Kostas Maragos

As a composer and orchestrator, Kostas Maragos belongs to the new generation of Greek film and performing arts composers.

Having started receiving music education from the age of 7, he quickly realized that music was the most important means for him to express, describe, and accompany images, stimuli, and experiences. During his studies, and as he took his first steps in music composition at the conservatory, he began to dress unique and personal moments with his original melodies.

In 2004, he began his academic studies at the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University (Corfu), and from 2007, he focused on Classical Composition and Music Composition for the Performing Arts.

Both his love for audiovisual arts and the seminar by William Antoniou on film music, that he attended in 2008, further reinforced his desire and need to professionally engage in music that accompanies visuals.

As a graduate of the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University, he has composed music for television shows, orchestrated music for the theater, and has also composed original music for video art, as well as for short, medium, and feature- length films.
